Slum Cinema Chapter Zimbabwe

Zimbabwe is the only Chapter that started without any support due to the power of the coordinator Ethel Kabwato. They have regulars screenings and activities in Harare and the inner land.

A Chapter is a self reliant Slum Cinema team within a country (a city or district) that operates more or less self-reliant. If possible it can be supported by Slum Cinema International.

Some members realize local assignments to continue activities. Support from the local community, NGO’s and business partners is another way that works in Zimbabwe. 

In 2010 and 2011 Zimbawe team proved that it will survive as a Chapter even with the lack of budget. Zimbabwe is a socalled no-budget Chapter. Although no budget the Chapter is very active with screenings in the slums, photo production and video.
